His widow was probably the Margaret Tinling who was bur. 22 Feb 1728 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland [reg., BT]. At the time, she was called a widow, and her last residence was North-End [reg., BT]. Children: John, Robert, Andrew.
1. John (Jonathan) Tinling. Probably a son (or brother?) of Andrew and Margaret Tinling of Burgh by Sands. He married 1st Elizabeth Hodgson on 21 Jul 1684 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland [BT as Tining]. At the time of their marriage, they were both living in Burgh by Sands [BT]. She was bur. 19 Apr 1701 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland [BT has 18 Feb, reg. under Tynion]. He married 2nd Mary Sawer on 11 Jan 1709 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland [reg., BT]. They were living in Burgh by Sands in Apr 1709, Oct 1711, May 1715 [IGI]. In 1712 and 1715 they were living in North-End, Burgh by Sands [reg., BT]. She was bur. 3 Mar 1741 in Burgh by Sands, at which time her residence had been Sandifield [BT under Tinnion]. Children by Elizabeth Hodgson: Mary. Children by Mary Sawer: Margaret, Jonathan, Robert. 1a. Mary Tinling. Chr. 22 May 1688 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Hodgson) Tinling [BT as Tining]. [She could also be the daughter of John and Mary Tinling of Bowsteadhill, Burgh by Sands].
2a. Margaret Tinling. Chr. 26 Apr 1709 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland, daughter of Jonathan and Mary (Sawer) Tinling [reg., BT]. She married David Wilson on 8 Jun 1732 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland [BT, IGI says Wilkin and 5 Jun]. At the time of their marriage, he was living in Rockliffe [BT]. [She could possibly (but not probably) be the daughter of Jonathan and Barbara (Pearson) Tinling].
3a. Jonathan Tinling. Chr. 2 Oct 1711 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland, son of Jonathan (John) and Mary (Sawer) Tinling [IGI, BT (parents’ names missing)]. He was bur. 10 Jan 1712 in Burgh by Sands [reg., BT has 18 Jan].
4a. Robert Tinling. Chr. 13 May 1715 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland, son of Jonathan and Mary (Sawer) Tinling [reg., BT]. He married Susan ______ [BT]. He was living in Sandifield, Burgh by Sands from Feb 1739 to Nov 1749 [reg., BT]. In 1754 he was living in the town of Burgh by Sands [BT]. His name is often spelled Tinnion in the records [reg.]. She was bur. 16 Jul 1764 in Burgh by Sands, at which time her residence had been Burgh [BT]. Probably the Robert Tinling living in Bowstead Hill, Burgh, who left a will in 1773 [Cumberland wills index]. Children: Andrew, Mary, Thomas, Eleanor, Sarah, Grace, Jane. [Or was he married to Abigail ______?]
1b. Andrew Tinling. Chr. 15 Feb 1739 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland, son of Robert and Susan Tinling [BT, IGI has 18 Feb]. He was bur. 7 Jun 1740 in Burgh by Sands [reg.].
2b. Mary Tinling. Chr. 26 Apr 1741 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland, daughter of Robert and Susan Tinling [BT]. She was bur. 28 Jul 1764 in Burgh by Sands [BT].
3b. Thomas Tinling. Chr. 18 Sep 1743 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland, son of Robert and Susan Tinling [reg., BT]. He was bur. 2 Jan 1744 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland [reg., BT].

3. Andrew Tinling. Chr. 4 Nov 1688 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland, posthumous son of Andrew and Margaret Tinling [BT as Tining].
Isaac Tinling. Married Anne Loansdale on 14 Jun 1705 in Burgh By Sands, Cumberland [reg., BT]. Living in Burgh by Sands in Apr 1706, Jan 1709, Mar 1711 [reg., BT (Apr 1706 missing)]. She was bur. 12 Nov 1731 in Burgh by Sands [reg., BT]. At the time, their residence was in Burgh [reg.]. In 1737 he was living in Dykesfield, Burgh by Sands [reg.]. He was bur. 27 Sep 1747 in Burgh by Sands, when his residence had been West-End [reg. (has 1750?), BT]. She was bur. 23 Sep 1750 in Burgh by Sands, when her residence had been West-End [BT]. [There are two death dates for Anne listed here – one must be for a different Anne.] They had children:
1. Jonathan Tinling. Chr. 8 Apr 1706 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland [reg.]. He was bur. 17 Nov 1737 in Burgh by Sands [reg., BT].
2. William Tinling. Chr. 22 Jan 1708 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland [reg., BT]. Probably the William Tinling who married Anne Hodgson on 19 Jun 1735 in Kirkbampton Parish, Cumberland [IGI]. Living in Dike(s)field, Burgh by Sands, Cumberland in Jun 1739, Oct 1741, Apr 1744, and in West End, Burgh by Sands in Mar 1747 [BT]. He was bur. 3 May 1747 in Burgh by Sands, when his residence had been West End [BT]. He left an administration dated 1747 [Carlisle wills index]. They had children (although the mother's name is not listed on any of the christening records):

4a. Sarah Tinling. Chr. 29 Mar 1747 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland [BT]. She is probably the Sarah Tinian of Burgh by Sands who married John Sim on 1 Nov 1773 in Burgh by Sands [BT as Tinian]. At the time, he was a mariner living in Bromfield, Cumberland [BT].
3. Mary Tinling. Chr. 11 Mar 1711 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland [reg., BT]. She was bur. 17 Dec 1711 in Burgh by Sands [reg., BT].
John (Jonathon) Tinling. Married 1st Mary ______ [reg.]. They were living at Bowstoadhill, Burgh by Sands, Cumberland in May 1683 [reg.]. She was bur. 10 Feb 1700 [reg., BT has 18 Feb, as T˙nion in both]. He married 2nd Barbara Pearson on 22 Aug 1700 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland [reg., BT]. At the time he was living in Bowstoadhill [reg., BT]. He was bur. 30 May 1713, at which time his residence was Bowsteadhill [BT]. She was bur. 4 Apr 1716, a widow, when her last residence had been Bowstoadhill [reg.]. Children: George, Robert.
1. George Tinling. Son of John (and Mary?) Tinling [BT]. He was bur. 25 May 1692 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland [BT as Tindill].
2. Robert Tinling. Chr. in May 1683 in Burgh by Sands, Cumberland, son of John and Mary Tinling [BT as Tinnig]. Living in Bowsteadhill, Burgh by Sands, Cumberland in Dec 1705 [BT]. Children: Jonathan.
