6. Jennet Tinlyne. Chr. 8 Nov 1661 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. She could possibly be the Jennat Tinline who married William Broun on 4 Nov 1703 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. At the time of their marriage, they were both living in Jedburgh [reg.].
7. David Tinling. Chr. 29 Jan 1663 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.].
______ Tinlin(e/g). He had children:
1. James Tinlein, Tinling, or Tynline. He married Bessie Anderson on 27 Jun 1645 in Melrose, Roxburghshire [reg. as Tomeling and Andersone]. In Dec 1645 they were living in Gattonside, Melrose and were living in Melrose in May 1650 [reg.]. They later moved to Jedburgh (and even later to Edinburgh?). He had children [however, notice problem with dates between children in move from Melrose to Jedburgh - two different families?]:
1a. James Tinline. Chr. 26 Dec 1645 in Melrose, Roxburghshire [reg. under Thomline (trans. says 9 Dec)]. Children: George (?).
2a. Andrew Tinlin. Chr. 19 May 1650 in Melrose, Roxburghshire [reg. as Tamling].
3a. Elisabeth Tinlein. Chr. 13 Aug 1649 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [SCR, was unable to locate in reg.].
4a. Barbarie Tinling. Chr. 7 Feb 1651 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.].
5a. George Tynline. Chr. 1 Mar 1655 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.].
2. George Tynline. Witness to the 1655 christening of [probably his nephew] George Tynline in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.].
Agnes Tinling. Married John Patan on 2 Mar 1681 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. He was a cordwainer (shoemaker) [reg.].
Thomas Tinlin(g)e. Married 1st ______ [reg.]. Living in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire in Mar 1668, Nov 1670 [reg.]. He married 2nd Issobell Laidlaw on 11 Jan 1672 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. They were living in Jedburgh in Sep 1672 - Oct 1684 [reg.]. He had two daughters apparently by a first wife and then the remaining children by his wife Issobell:
1. Margaret Tinling. Chr. 12 Mar 1668 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. The page on which this entry appears is torn, so it actually says, “[torn]mes Tinling a girl bap. [torn]ret…”. The father’s name could be James, not Thomas (as the IGI has it).
2. Agnes Tinline. Chr. 27 Nov 1670 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. She probably died young, as a younger half-sister was given the same name.
3. John Tinlyne. Chr. 29 Sep 1672 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. Possibly the John Tinline who married Agnes Brack on 20 Dec 1708 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. At the time of their marriage, they were both living in Jedburgh [reg.].
4. James Tineline. Chr. 5 Jul 1674 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.].
5. Isobell Tinline. Chr. 6 Aug 1676 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. Possibly the Isabell Tinline who married 1st William Broun, a merchant [reg.]. He died and she married 2nd George Martain on 28 Apr 1713 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. He was an “English School Master” [reg.]. A George Mertain was witness to the christening of a daughter of Jean Tinlin and Robert Aitkin in 1731 in Hawick [see Hawick family].
6. Thomas Tinling. Chr. 17 Jul 1678 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. Probably died young as a younger sibling was given the same name. However, the entry seems to read, “a girl baptized Thomass” [reg.].
7. Agnes Tinling. Chr. 28 Apr 1680 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. Possibly the Agnes Tinline who married John Thomson on 27 Nov 1705 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. At the time of their marriage, they were both living in Jedburgh [reg.].
8. Thomas Tinling. Chr. 16 Jul 1682 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.].
9. George Tinlinge. Chr. 5 Oct 1684 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.].
Thomas Tinline. Married Barbara Robsone on 22 Dec 1693 in Bedrule, Roxburghshire [listed in Jedburgh reg.]. Living in Gilliestongues, Jedburgh, Roxburghshire in Nov 1694, and in Jedburgh in Dec 1700 [reg. – 1700 entry says Tinling]. They had children:
1. Adam Tinline. Chr. 18 Nov 1694 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.]. Witnesses at his christening were John Broun, maltman, and Adam Ladlae [reg.].
2. Margrat Tinling. Chr. 8 Dec 1700 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire [reg.].
